| The Street Trees Program was an initiative by Townsville City Council Parks Services to provide shade trees to all streets in Townsville. Zingspace, working in partnership with Parks Services has been, and will continue to provide services to supply and install street trees in Townsville. Tree choice have been based on the local conditions, character of the street, and the space available. |
Street Tree planting for various Townsville suburbs occurred Monday June 30th 2008. Prior to planting the trees, the planting holes were filled with the specified amounts of TerraCottem and gypsum. Once planted, the holes were backfilled and mulched to create ‘wells’ to retain maximum water. The plants were also staked and strapped with elastic webbing. |
